Foldic

Your Photos albums, mirrored to real folders on your Mac โ€” automatically, incrementally, in original quality.

Coming soon to the Mac App Store

๐Ÿ“ Real files, real folders

Every album becomes a plain folder of original photos and videos. No proprietary library โ€” files you can back up, browse, and keep forever.

๐Ÿ”„ Always in sync

Foldic watches your photo library and exports new photos as they arrive โ€” like a one-way Dropbox for your albums.

๐Ÿ‘ช Shared Albums included

iCloud Shared Albums from family and friends are mirrored too โ€” the photos everyone contributed, saved as files on your disk.

๐Ÿ”’ Private by design

Runs entirely on your Mac, sandboxed. No account, no cloud service, no analytics, no data ever leaves your machine.

โ˜๏ธ iCloud originals

Optimized-storage library? Foldic can download originals from iCloud on demand while it exports.

๐Ÿงน Tidy mirrors

Incremental exports skip what is already on disk, flag orphaned files when photos leave an album, and preserve capture dates.

FAQ

Does Foldic modify my Photos library?

No. Foldic is strictly one-way: it reads your albums through Apple's PhotoKit and writes files to a folder you choose. It never edits, deletes, or reorganizes anything in Photos.

Where do my photos go?

To a folder you pick โ€” on your Mac, an external drive, or a NAS mount. Each album becomes its own subfolder.

What about Live Photos?

Both parts are exported: the still image and the paired video file.

How fast do iPhone photos show up?

As soon as iCloud syncs them to your Mac. Keeping Photos.app running makes iCloud deliver faster; Foldic also re-checks your library every few minutes.
